Privacy
Your sessions stay on your Mac.
I do not collect, sell or share personal information through the app. This section lists every piece of data the app and this website touch.
What the app readsThe session files Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and OpenCode write in your home folder, and the process table, to tell which sessions are live. It opens none of them for writing.
What the app keepsYour settings, and the Recent list of up to 20 finished or failed sessions, in the app's preferences on your Mac. "Clear recent" deletes the list.
NotificationsDelivered by macOS on your Mac. They name the project, the agent and the state, and are not sent anywhere.
What the app sendsOnly the update check, and only after you switch on "Check for updates automatically" or press "Check Now". It asks aiagentstatusapp.tallbottech.com/appcast.xml for the latest version. Like any web request, it carries your IP address and a user agent with the app's version. It sends no system profile and nothing about your sessions.
This websiteThe server keeps standard access logs: IP address, time, the page or file requested and the browser's user agent. They are used only to run the site and the update feed, and are deleted after 30 days. No cookies and no analytics.
To ask what I hold about you, or to have server logs that include your IP address deleted, email [email protected]. If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
Support
Something looks wrong?
Email [email protected]. It is a free app, so replies are best effort.
Include in your email
- 1The app version and your macOS version.
- 2The agent and its CLI version, for example claude --version.
- 3What the menu bar or popover showed, and what the agent was doing at the time.
- 4Your terminal app, and whether the session ran inside tmux.
Please don't attach session files: they hold your prompts and code.
Known limits
Agents change their files. None of the formats are documented. They were measured on Claude Code 2.1.290, Codex 0.154.0, Gemini CLI 0.62.0 and OpenCode 1.18.23 and 2.0.32, and a newer CLI can break a state until the app is updated.
Gemini CLI. It writes no approval signal, so "Needs you" shows only when a turn ends on a reply. It never reports Finished.
Codex and OpenCode. They write no approval signal either. "Needs you" is inferred once a tool call has waited 5 seconds with nothing written.
Review. It brings the terminal that hosts the session to the front. When no app is found, it opens the working folder in Finder.
Cursor. Listed in Settings, but not supported yet.
Uninstall
Switch off "Launch at login" in Settings, press Quit in the popover, then move AI Agent Status from Applications to the Bin.
Terms of use
Free to use, as it is.
- 1Jerome Coloma gives you a free, non-exclusive licence to install and use AI Agent Status on Macs you own or control. You may not sell it, or redistribute a modified copy as mine.
- 2The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. It shows what it infers from files the agents write, and it can be wrong. Don't rely on it as the only way to know an agent needs you.
- 3To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for any loss arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.
- 4Updates are signed and installed only when the signature matches my key. I may change or stop offering the app at any time.
AI Agent Status is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Anthropic, OpenAI, Google or the OpenCode project.
